Free DJ Programs

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

With free DJ programs, you can get an idea of what ’spinning’ discs is like, but beware!   Because of the vast diversity of requirements for DJ’s especially if you you expect to become a Video DJ, or VJ, it is very easy to get drawn into downloading all kinds of  free dj software whether for an unpaid trial period or permanently, some may rely on a voluntary donation!  The biggest problem that I have come accross is that downloading more than 2 or 3 of these programs is going to overload your pc’s cpu. Nearly all of the  free DJ mixing software have extra registry inputs which will shut down the software after a set period of time, whilst they will all be fighting for the same gateways and processing power of the PC. The Big temptation for most aspiring DJ’s is to load as many of these mixing software programs from the internet as is physically possible, and to try them all in quick sucsession if not all at once.

DON’T GO THERE.

Once you have allowed these free dj mixing software programs, free or otherwise, to embed themselves into your PC, they can be the very devil to remove completely, even if you decide not to go with them at a later stage.    Eventually you will choose the one mixing software that most suits your needs, and live happily ever after…….If Only.  Some of the older free DJ mixing software can be removed succesfully but not all fall into this category. Some of them used a serious amount of processing power, which inhibited their ability to run smoothly, some of the newer programs are quite capable of that feat too, especially when it comes to Video Mixing software products. A lot of companies are vying for the Video Dj business, not only new software companies, but also the older main line DJ supply companies, who are bringing all the old laser disc tecnology up to date for mixing and now ‘mashing’ the new Video input. I’m not going to get into the  ‘mashing’ corner at the moment, most of the free DJ mixing software programs will colapse if the Video DJ tries too hard to ‘play’ at mashing, so I’m going to stay with conventional Mixing of video’s for now. The Best free Dj mixing software program around for personal use has to be OtsAV. Have a look at the potential at MjrSecurity and Sound.  The Free version can’t use this mixing audio program for pro use, there is a repetive comment ‘reminding’ you to purchase the licensed product, but it is the perfect launch pad for any aspiring DJ to get his  ‘teeth’ into to mechanics of a DJ  audio mixing software program that works very well. You can download it for free from their website to use for your own personal use. There are also various “bedroom dj” and scratching modules available for modest sums (from around $19)which you can use proffesionally and you will be able to convert your Audio Mp3’s into Ots folders and use all the mechanics of the software to engineer your playlists. Embedded is an extensive helpfile which MUST be read to get the best out of the program. Converting your MP3’s to Ots files brings the Ots compression engine into play, whether set for party, DJ, or lounge, it ensures a smooth crossover from one track to the next, as well keeping the overall volume at a level  setting. Play with this program for a while and get to know how OtsDJ works. For those of you wishing to aspire to use the best DJ mixing software and to go on to greater things out in the Proffesional world there are plenty of Ots Products to chose from, whether you want to be a Video DJ, Internet Radio Broadcaster  or maybe even your own TV channel Ots has it all. The next step from the free Dj mixing software will be to try out the 30 day trial of OtsAV Pro to try the video Dj software that I  guarantee you will enjoy!!
